Missouri River Planning:
Recognizing and Incorporating Sediment Management

This new report from The National Academies examines sediment in and from the Missouri River basin that affect its ecology and the amount of contaminants, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Issues associated with the basin's sediment influence water management decisions within the greater Mississippi River watershed and extend as far as the Louisiana coast and the Gulf of Mexico.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on September 28, 2010 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
