America's Energy Future:
Technology and Transformation: Summary Edition

This new report, from The National Academies, marks the culmination of the first phase of the America's Energy Future project. It expands upon the findings of three previous project reports and evaluates the current and projected state of energy supply, storage, and use in the United States. The report assesses both existing and future energy technologies based upon readiness, cost, performance, environmental effects, and possible impediments to development or deployment.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The summary report was publicly released on July 28, 2009 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
