Advancing Nuclear Medicine Through Innovation

This new report, from the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine, looks at federal support for the field of nuclear medicine, where there are "advancements on the horizon" that could substantially improve health care. The report provides advice to the U.S. Department of Energy and National Institutes of Health on which areas of research to focus in order to realize this promise.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on Thursday, September 20, 2007 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
