Department of Homeland Security Bioterrorism Risk Assessment: A Call for Change

This new report, from the National Academies, recommends improvements to the Biological Threat Risk Assessment -- a computer-based tool developed by the Department of Homeland Security to assess the threat posed by biological agents if deployed in an attack upon the U.S. population.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on September 26, 2008 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
