Science and Security in a Post 9/11 World:
A Report Based on Regional Discussions
Between the Science and Security Communities

The National Research Council hosted a series of discussions between scientific researchers and national security representatives to explore how security measures since 2001 -- such as visa restrictions and export controls -- have affected scientific research. "Science and Security in a Post 9/11 World: A Report Based on Regional Discussions Between the Science and Security Communities" summarizes those discussions and recommends ways these communities can work together to protect both national security and the open flow of scientific information.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on October 18, 2007 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
