A Review of the Department of Transportation's Plan for Analyzing and Testing Electronically Controlled Pneumatic Brakes: Letter Report (Phase 2)

In response to a Congressional request in P.L. 114-94, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine reviewed the conduct of the Department of Transportation's tests, reports of test results, and analysis comparing the performance of electronically controlled pneumatic brakes relative to other braking technologies in reducing the incidence and severity of spills of crude oil or ethanol from derailments. This is the final of two reports. The first report can be found here

This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on October 5, 2017 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
