Catherine Ellen O'Connor Woteki was born in Buenos Aires and has worked in nutrition and food safety for years. She has had a long and prestigious career. From 1997 to 2001 she was the Under Secretary of Food Safety at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Next, she became the dean and director of the College of Agriculture at the Iowa State University. Currently, she is the Global Director of Scientific Affairs at Mars, Inc.
