Activity Description

The Food and Nutrition Board invites you to participate in the two-day workshop sponsored by the AARP Foundation on Meeting the Dietary Needs of Older Adults. The workshop will be held October 28-29 2015 at The National Academies, 2101 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC. The workshop will examine the evidence on factors in the physical, social, and cultural environment that impact the ability of older adults to meet their daily dietary needs. The specific objectives of the workshop are to 1) Describe the unique dietary needs of the 50+ and challenges to meeting them, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations; 2) Provide an overview of strategies employed to help meet these needs; and 3) Explore potential strategies that leverage the private sector and collaborative partnerships to help meet the nutrition/diet needs of the 50+.

For those that cannot attend in person, the meeting will be Webcast.
