The IOM Committee on Approaching Death: Addressing Key End of Life Issues held its second meeting on May 28 and 29, 2013 at the Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California. There was a public session on May 29 that featured family caregivers, community organizations, and experts describing various state policies regarding end of life care. There was also an opportunity for the public to comment on issues relating to end-of-life care that the committee will address in its work.

Interested parties may continue to submit to EOL@nas.edu any materials they believe the committee should consider in its work. Please note that any comments or materials you submit to the committee, including your name and identifying information, will not be kept confidential and will be included in a Public Access File in compliance with Section 15 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). The National Academies shall be authorized to use any such comments or submissions in accordance with the National Academies' Terms of Use Statement (http://www.nationalacademies.org/legal/terms.html).
