The first meeting of the Committee on Improving the Health, Safety, and Well-Being of Young Adults was held on December 5-6, 2013, at the Keck Center of the National Academies, located at 500 Fifth Street, NW, in Washington, DC. 

The first half of the open session (1:00 – 2:30 PM) was a briefing with the sponsors to obtain a better understanding of the study background and the sponsors’ charge to the committee. The second half of the open session (2:45 – 4:45 PM) included presentations by invited speakers on selected federal policies and programs relevant to young adults’ health, safety, and well-being.
