Erin Balogh, M.P.H., is a Senior Program Officer with the Board on Health Care Services and the National Cancer Policy Forum (NCPF) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Erin directed the consensus study Improving Diagnosis in Health Care, part of the Academies’ Crossing the Quality Chasm Series, and has staffed consensus studies focusing on the quality of cancer care, omics-based test development, the national cancer clinical trials system, and the evaluation of biomarkers and surrogate endpoints. Over the past decade, she has directed NCPF workshops on a broad range of policy issues in cancer research and care. Erin completed her M.P.H. in health management and policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and psychology. She has been the recipient of the Academies Communications Award, as well as a recipient of the Above and Beyond and Staff Team Achievement awards with the Health and Medicine Division of the Academies.
