The Institute of Medicine's Food Forum and Roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine are holding a 1.5 day workshop on “Sustainable Diets: Food for Healthy People and a Healthy Planet.” Kathleen Merrigan, former Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Agriculture, is the Keynote Speaker for the event. The workshop will explore current and emerging knowledge on the food and nutrition policy implications of the increasing strain on the natural resources in our food system, and seek to further discuss of how to incorporate environmental sustainability into U.S. dietary guidance policies.
