The Committee on Accelerating Progress in Obesity Prevention held a public information-gathering workshop March 23-24, 2011, on measurement strategies for accelerating progress in obesity prevention. The goals of the workshop are to 1) explore and understand the ways that measurement techniques, strategies, and data sources can impede and or promote acceleration of progress toward prevention of obesity, and  2) understand what additional knowledge regarding assessments of environments and policies is needed to measure progress of obesity prevention. The workshop is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

A video recording of the workshop will be also be available on the IOM Videos website a few weeks after the workshop.
