Heidi Burke directs the Childhood Healthy Weight initiative at the Health Foundation which is focused on increasing the percentage of children at a healthy weight in the city of Rochester. The initiative grants funds for school, home, and community programs and works to support advocacy strategies, the clinical community and manages a countywide communications campaign all to increase healthy weight among children. Her previous work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta focused on physical activity promotion and obesity prevention. While at the CDC, Ms.Burke worked on the VERB Campaign, a national youth social marketing campaign aimed at increasing physical activity among tweens. Most recently she directed strategic health initiatives and partnerships at the National Recreation and Park Association in Virginia. Ms. Burke obtained her B.S. in Sports Medicine from Mercyhurst University and her M.P.H. from Emory University.
