The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will hold a public implementation workshop for the 2015 report, Improving Diagnosis in Health Care, on July 17, 2017.

The goals of the implementation workshop are to:

  • Examine progress that has been made since the report’s release in September 2015 and discuss strategies for moving forward
  • Increase attention on the report recommendations that have not yet been implemented and suggest approaches for filling these gaps
  • Highlight the importance of the patient-centered emphasis of the report in guiding future work to improve diagnosis
  • Engage stakeholders who are critical to advancing progress in the area of diagnosis
  • Encourage discussion and collaboration among leaders from multiple sectors on potential areas for action to improve diagnosis
