Activity Description

A committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will evaluate the DoD Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The evaluation will include the CDMRP two-tiered peer review process, its coordination of research priorities with the National Institutes of Health, and will provide recommendations on how the process for reviewing and selecting studies can be improved.

As of March 2016, the Health and Medicine Division continues the consensus studies and convening activities previously undertaken by the Institute of Medicine (IOM).
