  • Public Dialogue Session: Evaluation of PEPFAR Date: April 1, 2013 (10:00 AM Eastern)

    A public dialogue session will be held on April 1, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to discuss the IOM's Evaluation of PEPFAR. The day will include committee member and PEPFAR stakeholder presentations, participant discussions, and in-depth exploration of specific report topics.
  • Report Release: Evaluation of PEPFAR Date: February 20, 2013 (9:00 AM Eastern)

    On February 20, the Institute of Medicine will release the report, Evaluation of PEPFAR, authored by the Committee for the Outcome and Impact Evaluation of Global HIV/AIDS Programs Implemented Under the Lantos/Hyde Act of 2008. A public briefing will be held at 9AM at the National Academy of Sciences Building.
  • IOM PEPFAR Evaluation Pre-Release Dissemination Discussion Date: January 30, 2013 (2:00 PM Eastern)

    In anticipation of the release of the IOM PEPFAR evaluation report all interested parties are invited to a pre-release meeting to share ideas for report dissemination. This meeting will be focused solely on report dissemination. Findings, conclusions, recommendations, and report content will not be shared during this meeting.
  • Evidence for Violence Prevention Across the Lifespan and Around the World-A Workshop Date: January 23, 2013 - January 24, 2013 (8:00 AM Eastern)

    Evidence-based approaches reveal that violence is a challenging, yet preventable global phenomenon. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) will convene a 2-day workshop to explore evidence for violence prevention across the lifespan and throughout the world.
  • The Contagion of Violence - A Workshop Date: April 30, 2012 - May 1, 2012 (8:50 AM Eastern)

    The IOM Forum on Global Violence Prevention will convene a 2-day workshop to explore the contagion of violence and how it can be prevented and eventually ended. The public workshop will be organized and conducted by an ad hoc committee to examine 1) the contagious nature of violence, 2) the relationship between the contagion of violence and epidemics of violence, and 3) how contagions of violence can be prevented or ended.
  • mPreventViolence: Communication and Technology for Violence Prevention - A Workshop Date: December 8, 2011 - December 9, 2011 (8:00 AM Eastern)

    The Forum on Global Violence Prevention will hold a 2-day public workshop on 1) the use of traditional and new media to communicate evidence-based information for violence prevention and 2) new applications of social media and new communications technologies to prevent violence.
  • Information Gathering Session: Committee for the Outcome and Impact Evaluation of PEPFAR Date: February 22, 2011 - February 24, 2011 (1:30 PM Eastern)

    The Committee for the Outcome and Impact Evaluation of Global HIV/AIDS Programs Implemented Under the Lantos/Hyde Act of 2008 will host a public information gathering session on February 22, 2011. Speakers will include representatives from the OGAC and the GAO.
  • Workshop on Preventing Violence against Women and Children Date: January 27, 2011 - January 28, 2011 (8:00 AM Eastern)

    Violence against women and children has far-reaching consequences, resulting in significant death and disability. The IOM will hold a workshop to discuss a comprehensive approach to the prevention of violence against women and children, focusing on early interventions.
  • Meeting 4: Envisioning a Strategy to Prepare for the Long-Term Burden of HIV/AIDS Date: September 8, 2010 - September 9, 2010 (8:30 AM Eastern)
