High-Quality Grad Students Integral to U.S. Science, Engineering

May 10 -- To maintain America's leadership in science and engineering research, a comprehensive effort is needed to improve the recruitment, education, and training of a cross section of U.S. students for careers in these fields, while at the same time continuing to attract the most talented scholars worldwide, says a new report from the National Academies. These two goals are critical, given increasing global competition for quality graduate students and researchers.
