More Research on Use of Conventional Warheads on Long-Range Missiles

May 15 -- Congress should fund research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts to explore the possible use of non-nuclear warheads on Trident missiles to provide the U.S. military with a conventional "prompt global strike capability," but it should withhold for now support for full-scale production and deployment, according to an interim report from a National Research Council committee studying this issue.
