Vietnam War Herbicide Exposure May Be Linked to Hypertension

July 27 -- A new report from the Institute of Medicine finds suggestive but limited evidence that exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides used during the Vietnam War is associated with an increased chance of developing high blood pressure and the rare disorder AL amyloidosis in some veterans. Such a finding means that scientific studies point to a possible link but certain factors limit the certainty of the evidence.
