New Approach to Presumptive Disability Benefits for Vets Proposed

August 9 -- A new report by the Institute of Medicine offers a revised approach to the way the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs determines whether specific health conditions in veterans could be connected to military service and therefore merit compensation. The revised approach aims to assure veterans and the public that these decisions are appropriate, consistent, and transparent.
