June 8, 2010 -- Today at the National Academy of Sciences, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy marked the one-year anniversary of President Obama’s speech in Cairo, Egypt, where he said science envoys would be part of a new U.S. effort to build stronger relationships with Muslim communities around the world. The first three envoys, including former NAS President Bruce Alberts, along with several officials of the U.S. government and ambassadors from Muslim-majority countries participated in today’s event to discuss how scientific partnerships can foster cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
