Executive Director of the African Peace Forum, Ambassador Kiplagat has over the years held senior positions in various capacities in his career as a peace-worker diplomat and civil servant. From 1978-1981, Ambassador Kiplagat was Kenya's ambassador to France, and later on, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. From 1983-1991, he was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From that time up to now, he has been involved in various activities such as organizing workshops and conferences on de-mining, demobilization, peace, and security in the Horn region. Ambassador Kiplagat was the team leader for the establishment of the Conflict Early Warning and Response Mechanism in the Intergovernmental Authority on Development. He is also a senior consultant on peace and conflict work and serves on numerous National and International boards. He is currently the Chairman of the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
