NAS President Testifies in Congress on Climate Change

May 20, 2010 -- National Academy of Sciences President Ralph J. Cicerone testified today in front of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming as part of a hearing entitled “Climate Change in the Political Arena.” In his testimony, Dr. Cicerone described the evidence base for human-caused climate change, summarized the findings of the National Research Council’s three new America’s Climate Choices reports, and called for more civility in the debate over how to respond to climate change.
