By Tom Roberts

July 15 - The first detonation of a nuclear weapon, a test known as "Trinity," was conducted on July 16, 1945. This week the National Academy of Sciences held a public symposium at which experts discussed the test and current U.S. nuclear weapons policy. Participants included several scientists involved in the Trinity project and current policy-makers. Several presentations from the symposium are available online.
