October 18 -- While several drugs and psychotherapies are used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, the body of evidence does not provide a clear picture of what works and what doesn't, says a new report from the Institute of Medicine. New research is urgently needed to determine the effectiveness of various therapies and how best to help particular PTSD sufferers, such as veterans.
