Everglades Restoration Effort Making Scant Progress

September 29 -- Complex project planning and funding processes are hindering a federal and state effort to restore the Florida Everglades, says a new report from the National Research Council. Good science has been developed to support efforts, but to begin reversing decades of decline, managers should first move forward with projects that have the most potential to restore the natural ecosystem.
