Past
Collecting pavement condition data is essential for managing airport pavements and ensuring safe operations. However, the availability of guidance for airports to be able to collect, apply, and maintain pavement condition data has not kept pace with rapid changes in technologies. TRB hosted a webinar on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern that explored how pavement condition data are used and managed by airports. Presenters provided guidance about how to distinguish differing techniques and discuss the associated decisions related to these practices. They also identified new technologies and the future of pavement data collection.
The webinar features research from ACRP Research Report 203: Guidelines for Collecting, Applying, and Maintaining Pavement Condition Data at Airports.
The recording is available.
Webinar agenda and presenters:
- Discuss how pavement condition data are collected, used, and managed by airports: David Peshkin, Applied Pavement Technology, Inc.
- Overview of available technologies for collecting pavement condition data: Kyle Wanner, North Dakota Aeronautics Commission
- Examples of matrices that link data collection purpose to a data collection method: Casey Ries, Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority
- Question and answer session: Moderated by Vivek Khanna, Woolpert
The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.
