How do cyclists use different bicycling facilities? Do certain facilities encourage more bicycle trips? TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern that discussed how current and potential cyclists perceive different types of facilities, and will identify how to quantify bicycle trips as a result of implementing bicycle facilities. The presenters described a study that took place in the southeastern United States, where bicycling is less prevalent than in other regions.
This webinar drew on research from the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Report 941: Bicyclist Facility Preferences and Effects on Increasing Bicycle Trips.
The slides and recording are available.
