There is a need for realistic specifications for clay and gravel road surfacing on low-volume roads. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern that identified specifications for clay content of gravel roads. The presenters described a mix design and test method for determining optimal amounts. They also provides examples of ways low-volume road agencies have obtained better performing gravel roads.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committee on Low Volume Roads.
The slides and recording of the webinar are available.
