Managers of airports of all sizes face a perennial dilemma: how to efficiently train operations personnel while simultaneously ensuring a safe and secure airport environment. TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Eastern that focused on current training methods and programs to prepare new and existing airport operations staff. Presenters identified how small airports (including nonhub, nonprimary commercial service, reliever, and general aviation) can appeal to different learning styles, preferences, and motivations. They also discussed curriculum design, topics, methods, and budgets.
The webinar features research from ACRP Synthesis 112: Airport Operations Training at Small Airports.
