TRB Webinar: Mitigating the Legal Risk of Data Collected at Airports

November 8, 2022

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (EST)

Past

As technology evolves, airports and their partners collect more data from passengers, employees, tenants, concessionaires, and airlines. This data is used for facilities, security, marketing, and enhancing the travel experience. TRB hosted a webinar on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Eastern that will help orient airport management and their legal counsel with growing body of law that affects airport data collection and use. Presenters discussed Freedom of Information Act and open records, the Federal Trade Commission and the “Common Law of Privacy”, the National Institute of Standards and Technology framework, along with other task-specific data security. Federal, state, and international structures and their changing nature were covered.

This webinar is based on ACRP’s Legal Research Digest 42: Legal Implications of Data Collection at Airports.

This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program.
