An ad hoc committee will determine what data and information are required to assess whether the distribution of federal fisheries management benefits is equitable. The committee will then identify what information and data currently exist, what additional information is needed, and any potential obstacles that may hinder collection of that information. Finally, the committee will present possible methodologies that NOAA Fisheries could use to assess the distribution of such benefits. The committee will consider benefits associated with commercial and for-hire fisheries.
