An ad hoc committee explored the effects of disasters on the academic research community (i.e., biological and biomedical) and produced a report that provided recommendations and guidance for individual researchers, research institutions, and sponsoring agencies regarding potential actions to mitigate the impact of future disasters on research facilities, reagents, and animals.
