Federal Tax Credits in 2021 Lifted More than 2 Million Children Out of Poverty, Says New Report

The temporary expansions of the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 reduced child poverty in the United States by nearly half, lifting more than 2 million children above the poverty line, a new congressionally mandated report finds.
