Topical Working Group: Empowering School and Instructional Leaders - Collaborative for Advancing Science Teaching and Learning in K-12

In progress

Any project, supported or not by a committee, that is currently being worked on or is considered active, and will have an end date.

The Empowering School and Instructional Leaders Topical Working Group aims to enhance the effectiveness and impact of school leadership in fostering a vibrant learning environment that prioritizes high-quality science education. This group will examine district and state policy frameworks, leadership development programs, and best practices drawn from successful school leadership experiences. Key focus areas include professional development tailored to the unique challenges faced by school leaders, strategies for building collaborative cultures within schools, and effective communication techniques to engage educators and stakeholders.

Description

The Collaborative on Advancing Science Teaching and Learning in K-12 (CASTL-K12) brings together entities across sectors engaged in the work of implementing Framework-inspired state level science standards. The heart of the work occurs within Topical Working Groups (Elementary Science, Retaining and Sustaining High Quality Science Educators, Empowering School and Instructional Leaders, Understanding and Navigating the Policy Conditions for Equitable Implementation) where together member organizations take on new evidence-based actions and share lessons learned with the broader science education community.
