Getting Started

Creating an Account

If you do not have an account yet, click the person icon in the upper right corner of any page on nationalacademies.org to open the login screen. At the bottom of the login screen, click “Sign up” to create your account. You will need to enter your email address and create a password. Passwords must be at least eight characters in length.

After signing up, we will send a verification email to confirm your email address. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the email within a few minutes. Follow the link in the email to verify your account.

Once verified, you can log in anytime by clicking the person icon in the top right corner of the website.

Important Information for Previous MyNAP Users:

MyAcademies is the new name for what was previously called MyNAP. Your account was migrated to our new integrated platform on nationalacademies.org.

  • Your email address remains the same.

  • You must reset your password when you first log in to MyAcademies.

  • All of your previous bookmarks, downloads, and saved content have been preserved.

To reset your password, click “Forgot Password” on the login screen and follow the instructions.

Note: MyAcademies is not the member portal for the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, or the National Academy of Medicine. Members of these honorific societies should visit their respective Academy websites to access member resources.
