Topical Working Group: Understanding and Navigating the Policy Conditions for Equitable Implementation - Collaborative for Advancing Science Teaching and Learning in K-12

In progress

The Understanding and Navigating Policy Conditions for Equitable Implementation Topical Working Group aims to examine the policy conditions necessary for ensuring that all students have access to high-quality science education across diverse educational contexts. The group will analyze district, state, and federal policy frameworks, identifying barriers and opportunities that affect the equitable implementation of science standards. Key focus areas include assessing resource allocation, examining the impacts of local and state policies on underserved communities, and exploring best practices for inclusive implementation at scale.

Description

The Collaborative on Advancing Science Teaching and Learning in K-12 (CASTL-K12) brings together entities across sectors engaged in the work of implementing Framework-inspired state level science standards. The heart of the work occurs within Topical Working Groups (Elementary Science, Retaining and Sustaining High Quality Science Educators, Empowering School and Instructional Leaders, Understanding and Navigating the Policy Conditions for Equitable Implementation) where together member organizations take on new evidence-based actions and share lessons learned with the broader science education community.
