Improving the Efficiency and Effectiveness of Genomic Science Translation: A Workshop

A number of inefficiencies and areas in need of improvement have been identified in the translation process; however, improving the translation of genomic discoveries will require collaborative efforts among stakeholders to encourage innovative and transformational research. The Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health hosted a workshop to examine how basic science can best be positioned to foster successful translation of early genomic discoveries. The presentations and discussions explored the challenges in and identified potential opportunities for improving the efficacy of the translation process.
