The Roundtable on Population Health Improvement held a public workshop to (1) showcase a conversation about how what we know about the relationship between education and health can inform our nation’s policies and investments; and (2) share examples and facilitate a dialogue about how the health and education sectors can work together to achieve co-benefits: improvements in educational attainment and in health status.

Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a public workshop featuring presentations and discussion on research, policy, and practice at the intersection of health and education. The workshop will 1) feature selected speakers from the fields of public health and education to discuss current efforts, research, and opportunities, and 2) include discussion of potential future research, activities, and policies that can be undertaken in this domain. The committee will identify specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. An individually-authored summary of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
