The workshop on Bolstering National Science & Technology Competitiveness Through Effective Science Communication was held on February 25 and 26.

Description

A committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine will convene a workshop to explore and identify pathways for effective communication that enhance the translation of scientific impact into societal benefits and strengthen national science and technology (S&T) competitiveness. Speakers will examine communication, broadly defined, within and across key sectors of the U.S. research enterprise (academia, industry, government, philanthropy, and the public) where differences in institutional cultures and perspectives can create challenges. By analyzing case studies and best practices, the workshop will identify successful methods for bridging communication gaps, fostering trust, and creating value that contributes to economic and S&T competitiveness. A proceedings in brief will be published following the workshop
