Description
An ad hoc committee operating under the auspices of the Board on International Scientific Organizations and the U.S. National Committee (USNC) for Psychology will plan and convene an international workshop on building infrastructure for international collaborative research in the social and behavioral sciences and solutions to problems that hinder such research. The committee will develop the workshop agenda, selected and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. Possible topics to be addressed are: building infrastructures to support cross national research; dissemination of information to scientific and other audiences through publications and other opportunities; international data sharing protocols and management; initiating relationships and sustaining collaborations and mentorships over time; strategies for anticipating and resolving conflicts; protection of Human Subjects in international research, especially cross national and cross institutional IRBs; capacity building and cultural competence; and financial support of cross national research. A summary of the workshop will be authored by an individual rapporteur.
