The majority of older adults prefer to remain in their homes and communities as they age. For persons living with dementia and their care partners, there are both individual needs and community infrastructures that can help them age in place. The Committee on Population (CPOP) and Board on Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences (BBCSS) will convene a three-day virtual workshop that will discuss the state of knowledge and identify conceptual approaches to guide research on aging in place for people living with dementia in the United States. The workshop will emphasize community- and neighborhood-level factors that enable aging in place.
