This 1.5 day workshop explored the mental and physical health impacts of being exposed to the social determinants across the lifespan on the micro, meso, and macro levels. The workshop encouraged participants to think critically about how the social determinants of mental health can be integrated into health professional education and featured presentations on a series of topics as well as small group and breakout discussions that allowed participants to engage with colleagues across professions and sectors.

Description
A planning committee will plan and conduct a 1.5-day public workshop to explore how health professions education and practice organizations and programs, are currently addressing social determinants that contribute to mental health disparities across the lifespan. The workshop will also set the stage for discussions on how disparities can affect the mental health and well-being of patients, families, communities, and care providers across the learning continuum.
The planning committee will develop a workshop agenda, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. Following the workshop, a proceedings of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
