About

Climate change and its impacts will likely have direct and indirect costs on human and economic welfare, as well as exacerbate environmental degradation. To achieve optimal policy design that can satisfy economic and environmental goals, it is vital to estimate the potential economic damages of climate change and climate-related impacts. However, efforts to integrate climate into macroeconomic analyses will need to grapple with complexities related to macroeconomics, climate science and impacts, and multiple policy instruments. In this context, this meeting will begin outlining the macroeconomic, climatic, and public policy landscape in which this work is embedded to start building the scholarly climate-macro foundation. The meeting will also feature a discussion on how the Roundtable's outputs can be beneficial to some of the anticipated end users.

This hybrid meeting will take place online/in Washington, DC on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 10:00 am–4:00 pm ET. Closed captioning will be provided. The conversation will include questions from the audience and will be recorded and available to view on the project page after the event.
