Biometrics is one of the most powerful, but misunderstood technologies used at airports today. The ability to increase the speed of individual processes, as well as offer a touch-free experience throughout an entire journey is a revolution that is decades in the making. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, June 30, 2022 that explored biometrics’ use in airports. Presenters discussed how biometrics work; examined recent trends in adoption; introduced legal, policy, and privacy considerations related to their adoption and use; and outlined some potential benefits of implementing biometric technology systems at airports.
