Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) has proven to be a versatile option in repair, retrofitting, and new designs of different portions of bridges. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that shared completed and ongoing research on the application of UHPC and requirements for using it in retrofitting and repair projects. Presenters provided guidance on the design of UHPC precast members and detailing requirements for pretensioning, reinforcement, and local and global behavior of such members. Presenters also shared international examples of utilizing UHPC material for the construction of bridges.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar were for presentations and the final 30 minutes were reserved for audience questions.

  3. Reference different international projects that have adopted UHPC material for construction of new bridges
