WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The workshop is intended to explore in as much depth as possible the intersection of health and early care and education—with attention to equity, birth through age 5, and across all early care and education settings—in order to surface and understand potential effects on population health. Presentations and discussion are intended to
- highlight what is working at the intersection of health and early care and education, discuss the importance of early care and education in achieving overall goals for early childhood development, and consider current priorities;
- provide examples of successful initiatives focused on early care and education and health; and
- create space for conversations around the examples provided, including spread and scale for greater impact, sustainability
(including funding models), the collection of relevant data, and the identification of additional gaps that need to be addressed.
