Standing Committee on Emerging Infectious Diseases Provides Rapid Response to Government on Key Coronavirus Questions

Updated April 9, 2020 The National Academies’ Standing Committee on Emerging Infectious Diseases and 21st Century Health Threats was assembled at the request of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.  The standing committee held its first meeting on March 11, during which it discussed potential research priorities arising as a result of the emergence of COVID-19 in the U.S. and globally. It is providing rapid expert consultations on several topics, such as surface stability and incubation, social distancing, and crisis standards of care. Contacts:
