Second Arab-American Frontiers Symposium
The Arab-American Frontiers program is participant driven: an organizing committee of 12 members makes the final selection of session topics, suggests speakers, and chairs the individual sessions during the symposium. The session topics presented at the symposium were:
- Global Food Security: Adaptions for the Future
- Finding new Sources of Water for Growth: Water Reuse & Desalination
- Old Energy, New Methods to Access Resources: The Hydraulic Fracturing Story
- Environmental Regulators of Cancer
- Linkages Session
While speakers in each session are selected as experts in the topics above, each general participant also presents his or her research during poster sessions.

Description
The Arab-American Frontiers program convenes U.S. and Arab scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to discuss major scientific advances on a wide array of topics relevant to the MENA region and globally. The goal is to enhance the scientific exchange and dialogue among young researchers in Arab countries and the United States, and through this interaction, facilitate research collaboration within and beyond the region.
The second Arab-American Frontiers symposium was held in partnership with The Research Council (TRC) of Oman and hosted in Muscat, Oman, on December 13 to 15, 2014. The meeting convened U.S. and Arab scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to discuss major scientific advances on a wide array of topics relevant to the MENA region and globally.
